OCF User Guidelines

The Ounce Community Forum is intended for personal use, for participants, whether they be customers, partners, security and or development specialists, IT pro's, folks in other product co's, journalists, bloggers ... or anyone with some curiosity about app sec ... to share questions, solutions, best practices and other resources. As you know, we all benefit when security improves. Well, maybe not hackers, but almost everybody else.

The following Community Guidelines are here to help you understand what it means to be a member of the OCF community. Don't forget that your use of it is subject to these Guidelines and our Terms of Use.

What to do

  • Do share things that have worked for you
Some of the folks accessing this forum will be new to the app sec space and/or new to code scanning with Ounce. If you have a few lessons learned under your belt, please share them so that others might benefit.

  • Do share your problems and questions
There's a good chance that someone else in the community will have already encountered them and may have a ready solution. Ounce personnel will also be on the forum and will be ready to supply guidance when a good answer is not forthcoming from other community members.

  • Do moderate your content
Please take responsibility for ensuring that what you say and share meets minimum standards of professionalism. If your judgment proves poor, we'll moderate your account and send you a warning. And if a warning doesn't do the trick, we'll have to remove you from the community. BTW-we hope to never have to do this.

What not to do

  • Don't vent your frustrations, rant, or bore the brains out of other members
The OCF is not a venue for you to harass, abuse, impersonate, or intimidate others. If we receive a valid complaint about your conduct, we'll send you a warning or terminate your account.

  • Don't use the OCF for marketing/sales purposes
The forum is,as much as possible, a marketing-free zone. Things will be said here that are favorable about Ounce (and other) products, companies and people, and critical comments will be made as well. That's all part of keeping it real. But remember, the purpose of this community is to facilitate sharing of good information and help folks with solutions to their app sec-related challenges. It's not to evangelize one product or company over another; that type of behavior will only get in the way of the good stuff, and will be moderated out.

In Conclusion
We've crafted these guidelines to ensure that everyone within the community has the experience they want. It's important that you understand the importance of moderating your content responsibly. If you don't feel that you can abide by our Community Guidelines as outlined above, maybe this isn't the place for you. But if you can play by these rules, then all I can say is ... Go For It !!!

If you ever have any questions or comments, we'd love to hear from you. Please feel free to drop us a line ... or just post ‘em on the forum, and you'll get a response pronto.
